Former Dallas Cowboy, and all time great, Drew Pearson #88, was on hand at Citizens National Bank in downtown Longview at 200 N. Fredonia on Wednesday, September 11th, to help celebrate the branch’s grand opening week by signing autographs for welcoming fans. Fans stood in line for several hours to meet the Hail Mary, Cowboy Ring of Honor inductee and Superbowl champ.
Citizens National Bank has opened their newest branch today in downtown Longview at 200 N. Fredonia (corner of Tyler and Fredonia Streets) in one of Longview’s most enduring landmarks. Brad Tidwell, President and CEO stated, “It has been great watching the revitalization of this historic building knowing that Citizens National Bank will be the foundation. We are more than excited to be a part of downtown Longview, once again giving life to this building by putting a bank back into the lobby and serving the needs of not only downtown, but all of Longview. We welcome the community to stop by and see the transformation of this wonderful piece of Longview’s history.” The new downtown location will serve as CNB Longview’s main office and also include a trust office.

A ribbon cutting ceremony with the Longview Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Thursday, July 25th at 11 a.m., along with a tour of the bank. The public is invited to attend. Citizens National is very proud to display multiple pieces of historical significance from the Gregg County Historical Museum as well as having the opportunity to exhibit artwork from the Longview Museum of Fine Arts permanent collection throughout the first floor. Highlighting the renovated lobby is a 20 foot x 11 foot art collage from Longview’s proud history.
Citizens National Bank made the transition into downtown this past November, when the Convenience Center and Drive Thru opened on November 4, 2012, at 201 N. Green Street. Jackie Moseley has served as the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager at the Convenience Center, and with the renovation now complete in the Main Lobby, she will move her office to the main lobby and continue her role there. Orlando Valle, will serve as Assistant Branch Manager of the Convenience Center and Drive Thru.
The Main Lobby on Tyler and Fredonia Streets will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed on Saturday. The Convenience Center and Drive Thru hours are as follows: Lobby will be open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Drive Thru will be open Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

On Tues., May 28th, both the Tyler Grande and Market Square branches sponsored the 60th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting at the Tyler Area Builders Association. Citizens National Bank is proud to be a part of the Tyler community and a partner with the Tyler Area Builders Association.

On Sat., May 18th, the Longview Convenience Center held a family “Spring Fling” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the branch. CNB staff was on hand to help entertain over one hundred people who stopped by to enjoy free hamburgers and hotdogs, games and prizes, face painting and balloon artistry by a clown. La Invasora radio was also on site to keep the crowd going. There was a drawing for several La Michoacana Meat Market gift certificates that day and Longview resident, Imelda R., won the $250 Grand Prize certificate! Congratulations Imelda!
A good time was had by all and thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the day!
Citizens National Bank, CFG Insurance and CFG Investments has been hard at work the last month, raising $6,954 for Rusk County’s Relay for Life! Charla Hendrix, Chandler Branch Manager, was presented the Community Connection Award on Wed., April 10th at the Athens Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Charla has spent over 15 years on the Henderson County Fair Board, over 20 years assisting with the Livestock Show in Athens and some 15 years with the PCRA Rodeo in Athens. This was a true honor and she took a standing ovation from the audience. Charla is a great example of the servitude that a CNB employee represents in their community. Congratulations Charla!
Sue Plummer was recently named the Henderson Chamber Ambassador of the Year for 2012. The Ambassador of the Year is earned on a point system and out of 30 ambassadors, Sue had the highest number of points. Points are earned by attending Chamber functions, such as ribbon cuttings, special events and by recruiting new Chamber members. As part of the honor, Sue will receive a plaque and a certificate of congratulations from the Texas House of Representatives. Way to go Sue! We are very proud of you!
An “Invention Convention” was held at The Brook Hill School recently in Bullard. Third grade students had the opportunity to share with parents and teachers about the inventor that they researched and the invention that they created by looking for problems to solve in their own homes. CNB’s Beth Parsons and Claire McNabb were on hand to hand out treasure chests to students that were made by the Grande branch teller staff. Branch Manager Sheila Dixon said it is a very worthwhile event that Citizens was invited back to this year and she thanked Susan Boles, Nereyda Valle and Andres Diaz for their hard work on the chests. CNB branch locations in Henderson collected $670.00 for the Henderson Interchurch Ministries, an organization that provides assistance for those who are less fortunate in our own communities. This money was collected from employees who were allowed to wear jeans on Fridays for a donation of $2 each Friday.
