Earlier this week in Austin, Keep Henderson Beautiful officially received the 2014 Texas Governor’s Community Achievement Award for its work in enhancing the natural resources of Texas. Along with this recognition comes a $160,000 grant to be used for beautification efforts within the City of Henderson, with guidance from the Texas Department of Transportation. A plaque and replica of the grant check will be on display in the downtown Henderson Main Lobby of Citizens National Bank for the next month, then will travel to another location within the city.

The downtown Longview Convenience Center received the Beautification Award from Keep Longview Beautiful this morning. They give this award each quarter to a business that is nominated and voted on by their Board of Directors. The award will be kept on display for one year at the Convenience Center to show that the branch is committed to keeping Longview beautiful. Congratulations to Jackie Moseley, Orlando Valle and the great staff in downtown Longview! Thank you to Keep Longview Beautiful, we are honored!
Rusk County Black History Association presented Linda Cooper, an employee of Citizens National Bank of Henderson, with the Humanitarian Award at the county’s Black History Gala on February 2nd. Linda was recognized for her commitment to Rusk County and as a trailblazer in Rusk County history.
Linda graduated from Navarro Jr. College and began her banking career in 1976 being hired as the first black employee in banking (First National Bank) in Rusk County. She started at the bottom working her way through nearly every department, taking several banking classes along the way, and is now Vice-President of Citizens National Bank in charge of the teller staff at 25 branches.
Linda spends countless hours giving back to her community by either volunteering her time, serving as a mentor or serving on one of many boards such as the Henderson Lionnettes Booster Club, the Rusk County Child Advocacy Center or a host of others.
Linda has been recognized for her efforts in the Rusk County community as well as within the banking industry. She was recently recognized at the Martin Luther King Program for her accomplishments in business and was also recognized by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) and presented with the IBAT Award for Leadership.
Linda is married, has two sons and 7 grandchildren.

Both branches in Corsicana worked together to cook 450 hamburgers on the CNB barbeque trailer for the students and staff at the Collins Middle School Fun Day this past Friday, May 23rd.
