Making a Joyful Noise

The week of December 17th, carolers from Wylie Elementary and First Baptist Church, both of Henderson, came to sing at the main bank in downtown Henderson.  Seeing all the little smiling faces singing with joyful hearts was such a pleasure to experience during this wonderful Christmas season.  After each group finished, they were presented with a tray of Christmas sugar cookies for their class, courtesy of Citizens National Bank!

Spring Hill Branch Plays Santa

The ladies of CNB’s Spring Hill branch used their their “jean” money that is collected each Friday, plus a little more, to help a local needy family with Christmas.  The family was very surprised, as they didn’t expect or ask for any help.  The family had quite a few children, so each employee “adopted” one of the children and bought Christmas for them.  The employees were also able to give the family a $135.00 gift card.  Branch Manager, Kim Graham said, “I am so proud of the teamwork here at Spring Hill, they made this family so happy.”  We at CNB couldn’t agree more!

Tyler’s Bras for the Cause Benefit a Success!

Tyler Grande Branch Manager Sheila Dixon and Vice President/Lender Sandra Browning co-chaired the event “Bras for the Cause” that took place recently in Tyler at Hollytree Country Club.  Sheriff J. B. Smith served as auctioneer and some local fireman modeled the “bras for the cause”.  The event raised over $32,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Cancer Society and Women’s Council of Realtors.  Sheila Dixon said, “It was a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun and we raised a great amount of money for such a worthy cause.”   CNB is very proud of these ladies and all the employees who volunteered and attended this event!

CNB Expands into Downtown Longview

Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company and Citizens National Bank (CNB) are pleased to announce that a multi-year lease has been signed by CNB to occupy the Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company building at 200 N. Fredonia located in downtown Longview.  Kilpatrick is eager to have a bank return to the building and both organizations are looking forward to adding to the growth and revitalization of downtown Longview.

Brad Tidwell, President & CEO of CNB stated, “Everyone at Citizens National Bank is very excited about the opportunity to open the downtown Longview branch.  Our expansion and new presence downtown will allow Citizens to have a much larger footprint geographically and we will be able to serve Longview better than ever before.  We greatly appreciate the significant investment that Kilpatrick is making along with CNB to the building.  Without them this new venture would not be possible.”

“Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company is delighted that Citizens National Bank has chosen the Kilpatrick Life Building in Longview as its newest location,”   said J. Brian Morrison, President and CEO.  “I think it speaks volumes when a bank like Citizens chooses to bring 25 new jobs to downtown Longview.”  Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company was founded in 1932 and has $1 billion of in-force insurance.

Kilpatrick and Citizens are making a significant investment in the building, with renovations to the basement, first and second floors, as well as the parking garage, exterior of the main building and drive-thru convenience center.  CNB will lease almost 20,000 square feet of total space.

CNB anticipates opening the drive-thru convenience center, located at the intersection of Methvin and Green Streets, by November 1, 2012, with the main bank slated to open by April 1, 2013.  CNB currently serves Longview with branches located at 3412 N. 4th Street @ Hawkins Parkway, 5001 Estes Parkway in Lakeport and 3600 Gilmer Road in Spring Hill.

CNB anticipates employing a staff of approximately 25 at their newest Longview location.   This location will also be the home of CNB’s Longview Trust Department.  Both Kilpatrick and CNB are committed to Longview and its continued growth.

Joint Venture Announced: CFG Insurance Agency and Gans & Smith Insurance Agency Inc.

Brad Tidwell, Chairman of CFG Insurance Agency of Henderson (a subsidiary of Citizens National Bank), is proud to announce a joint venture with Gans & Smith Insurance Agency Inc. of Longview.  Chairman Tidwell stated, “This is an exciting time for CFG Insurance and we couldn’t be happier to have Gans & Smith join our team.”

Gans & Smith was organized in 1889 by J.R. and T.E. Clemmons, and has operated continuously over the last 123 years.  The agency assumed its present name in 1912, under the partnership of W. Bruner Smith and Daniel W. Gans. Ownership of the agency at the present time is vested in four corporate principals, including David McWhorter, President & Managing Partner, who will oversee the Henderson CFG Insurance operations.  David brings a wealth of experience to the table and will be a trusted CFG adviser.  Chairman Tidwell continued, “With their longevity, expertise and the excellent leadership by David McWhorter, they will be an invaluable asset to CFG Insurance.  We look forward to many years of continued success with them.”

CFG Insurance Agency was formed in 1999 when Citizens National Bank broadened services for bank clients to include home, auto, business, life and health insurance. The following year the bank provided professional depth and a large insurance customer base to CFG Insurance by acquiring The Preston Agency in Henderson which was a highly regarded family owned agency dating back to 1913. With a larger and well experienced staff CFG Insurance moved in 2003 to its current location on Hwy. 79 in Henderson.

All staff at CFG will remain in place and Linda Purcell will continue to serve as Sr. Vice President.  CFG offers competitive insurance products through all Citizens National Bank locations and directly throughout East Texas.  The agency staff includes specialists in the areas of commercial auto insurance, group life/health benefits and risk management consulting as well as the standard insurance policies needed by any individual, family or business. The service expertise, product offerings, leadership and experience will continue with the Gans & Smith relationship.

David McWhorter, President of Gans & Smith stated, “We are pleased to be a part of this partnership.  Both groups are well established in East Texas and bring similar values, views and ideas to the table.  The enhanced potential for the sales growth and improved client service to the clients of both organizations is very exciting.  Most importantly, the transition to the new partnership will be almost seamless while all CFG customers both current and new will benefit from the availability of a larger number of companies for improved coverage and pricing.”
