The Corsicana branches participated in the Relay for Life and not only did they raise $4,052 (not a final # yet, could be more) but they also won 1st place for their Relay Spirit stick! Way to go team!

Citizens National Bank, CFG Insurance and CFG Investments has been hard at work the last month, raising $6,954 for Rusk County’s Relay for Life! This amount pushed them to Third Place in donations raised thus far in Rusk County! Thank you to all the employees who helped make this event a success or came out to walk. WAY TO GO TEAM! Longview Convenience Center’s “Spring Fling”

Citizens National Bank Employee Honored with Award

Charla Hendrix, Chandler Branch Manager, was presented the Community Connection Award on Wed., April 10th at the Athens Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Charla has spent over 15 years on the Henderson County Fair Board, over 20 years assisting with the Livestock Show in Athens and some 15 years with the PCRA Rodeo in Athens. This was a true honor and she took a standing ovation from the audience. Charla is a great example of the servitude that a CNB employee represents in their community. Congratulations Charla!

Citizens National Bank to Purchase East Texas National Bank

Brad Tidwell, President and CEO of Citizens National Bank (CNB), is pleased to announce that the bank has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase East Texas National Bank (ETNB) in Palestine, Texas. ETNB’s main bank is located at 207 West Spring Street, with two full service branches located in Huntsville and Mexia. This transaction was approved by the boards of both banks and the closing is tentatively scheduled for June 2013, pending regulatory approval.

Brad Tidwell stated, “East Texas National Bank was chartered in 1911 in Palestine and has 102 years of deep East Texas roots, which is a great fit for Citizens National Bank, considering our 83 year history here in East Texas,” Tidwell continued, “Citizens National Bank is very excited to have the opportunity to acquire such an outstanding, conservative bank with values that mirror those of Citizens National Bank.” Cliff Bomer, President of East Texas National Bank said, “East Texas National Bank has been the cornerstone of banking in our area for generations. We are proud that we will be a part of a bank that will help us to continue to serve our customers for generations to come.”

East Texas National Bank has $150 million in assets as well as $65 million in assets under management in their trust department. After the purchase of ETNB, Citizens National Bank will have $1.2 billion in assets and 24 branches throughout East and Central Texas. The combined Trust Departments will have over $350 million in assets under management. Citizens National Bank is a locally owned, independent, community bank headquartered in Henderson, Texas and has been serving the families and businesses of East Texas since 1930.

CNB’s Sue Plummer Honored by Henderson Chamber

Sue Plummer was recently named the Henderson Chamber Ambassador of the Year for 2012. The Ambassador of the Year is earned on a point system and out of 30 ambassadors, Sue had the highest number of points. Points are earned by attending Chamber functions, such as ribbon cuttings, special events and by recruiting new Chamber members. As part of the honor, Sue will receive a plaque and a certificate of congratulations from the Texas House of Representatives. Way to go Sue! We are very proud of you!

Citizens National Participates in “Invention Convention”

An “Invention Convention” was held at The Brook Hill School recently in Bullard. Third grade students had the opportunity to share with parents and teachers about the inventor that they researched and the invention that they created by looking for problems to solve in their own homes. CNB’s Beth Parsons and Claire McNabb were on hand to hand out treasure chests to students that were made by the Grande branch teller staff. Branch Manager Sheila Dixon said it is a very worthwhile event that Citizens was invited back to this year and she thanked Susan Boles, Nereyda Valle and Andres Diaz for their hard work on the chests.
