Congratulations to Linda Cooper, the Employee of the Year for 2014! Linda is the bank’s Teller Operations Manager and provides training and support for the teller staff at all 25 locations. She joined the CNB family in 1992 and has been an invaluable member of the bank’s team. Linda’s Employee of the Month nomination cited her positive attitude, her willingness to help in any area of the bank, and her passion for helping and developing employees as just a few of the qualities that make her like a second mother to many of the bank’s team members. In addition to her duties at the bank, Linda gives back to her community through her involvement in her church and with various service organizations in Rusk County. She and her husband, William, live in Henderson. Congratulations, Linda! We are proud of you.
Citizens National Bank has opened their newest branch today in downtown Longview at 200 N. Fredonia (corner of Tyler and Fredonia Streets) in one of Longview’s most enduring landmarks. Brad Tidwell, President and CEO stated, “It has been great watching the revitalization of this historic building knowing that Citizens National Bank will be the foundation. We are more than excited to be a part of downtown Longview, once again giving life to this building by putting a bank back into the lobby and serving the needs of not only downtown, but all of Longview. We welcome the community to stop by and see the transformation of this wonderful piece of Longview’s history.” The new downtown location will serve as CNB Longview’s main office and also include a trust office.

A ribbon cutting ceremony with the Longview Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Thursday, July 25th at 11 a.m., along with a tour of the bank. The public is invited to attend. Citizens National is very proud to display multiple pieces of historical significance from the Gregg County Historical Museum as well as having the opportunity to exhibit artwork from the Longview Museum of Fine Arts permanent collection throughout the first floor. Highlighting the renovated lobby is a 20 foot x 11 foot art collage from Longview’s proud history.
Citizens National Bank made the transition into downtown this past November, when the Convenience Center and Drive Thru opened on November 4, 2012, at 201 N. Green Street. Jackie Moseley has served as the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager at the Convenience Center, and with the renovation now complete in the Main Lobby, she will move her office to the main lobby and continue her role there. Orlando Valle, will serve as Assistant Branch Manager of the Convenience Center and Drive Thru.
The Main Lobby on Tyler and Fredonia Streets will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed on Saturday. The Convenience Center and Drive Thru hours are as follows: Lobby will be open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Drive Thru will be open Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Charla Hendrix, Chandler Branch Manager, was presented the Community Connection Award on Wed., April 10th at the Athens Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Charla has spent over 15 years on the Henderson County Fair Board, over 20 years assisting with the Livestock Show in Athens and some 15 years with the PCRA Rodeo in Athens. This was a true honor and she took a standing ovation from the audience. Charla is a great example of the servitude that a CNB employee represents in their community. Congratulations Charla!
Brad Tidwell, President and CEO of Citizens National Bank (CNB), is pleased to announce that the bank has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase East Texas National Bank (ETNB) in Palestine, Texas. ETNB’s main bank is located at 207 West Spring Street, with two full service branches located in Huntsville and Mexia. This transaction was approved by the boards of both banks and the closing is tentatively scheduled for June 2013, pending regulatory approval.

The following year the bank provided professional depth and a large insurance customer base to CFG Insurance by acquiring The Preston Agency in Henderson which was a highly regarded family owned agency dating back to 1913. With a larger and well experienced staff CFG Insurance moved in 2003 to its current location on Hwy. 79 in Henderson.
All staff at CFG will remain in place and Linda Purcell will continue to serve as Sr. Vice President.
