Louis Vasquez 65Today is Louis Vasquez Day in Corsicana, where the Denver Broncos offensive lineman starter grew up and graduated in 2005.  The town is buzzing in orange and navy to support their hometown son.  Played four seasons at Texas Tech University, helping the Red Raiders rank second in the nation in total offense (529.6 ypg) and scoring (40.0 ppg) during his junior campaign in 2007.

He was selected by the Chargers in the third round (78th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.  He helped the Chargers offense rank fourth in the NFL in points per game (25.8) during his four seasons with the franchise.  He finished as one of only three 16-game starting offensive guards in 2012 to not be called for a penalty.  Named to the PFW/PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2009 after opening 14 games for San Diego and helping the Chargers win their fourth consecutive AFC West Division title.  Vasquez is a fifth-year offensive guard who started all 70 regular-season games played during his career, allowing only 11 sacks and committing just three penalties on offense according to Stats Inc.  He was selected to his first career Pro Bowl and All-Pro (first team) after allowing zero sacks in his first season with the Broncos in 2013.   Vazquez joined the Broncos as an unrestricted free agent on March 12, 2013.

Longview Branch Celebrates Grand Opening w/Drew Pearson

Former Dallas Cowboy, and all time great, Drew Pearson #88, was on hand at Citizens National Bank in downtown Longview at 200 N. Fredonia on Wednesday, September 11th, to help celebrate the branch’s grand opening week by signing autographs for welcoming fans.  Fans stood in line for several hours to meet the Hail Mary, Cowboy Ring of Honor inductee and Superbowl champ.   Customer 1Charlie Williams
